For patients who are fully edentulous or suffering from advanced tooth loss, All-on-4 / All-on-6 implant systems offer a revolutionary solution made possible by modern dentistry. With a single surgical procedure, this innovative approach provides a stable, fixed, and highly aesthetic smile. Unlike conventional implant treatments, this technique uses fewer implants to support a full-arch prosthesis, making it an ideal option especially for patients with bone loss.
What Is All-on-4 / All-on-6?
The All-on-4 system is based on the principle of placing four strategically positioned dental implants in the upper or lower jaw to support a fixed full-arch prosthesis. Thanks to the angled placement of the posterior implants, areas with low bone volume can be bypassed, often eliminating the need for additional surgical procedures such as sinus lifting or bone grafting.
The All-on-6 system follows a similar principle but uses six implants to provide greater stability and support. This option may be preferable for patients seeking enhanced durability and improved resistance to chewing forces over the long term.
Both systems allow implant placement and prosthetic restoration within the same treatment period, enabling patients to begin enjoying results more quickly.
Treatment Stages of All-on-4 / All-on-6
This innovative treatment consists of carefully planned steps focused on maximizing patient comfort:
Comprehensive Examination and Planning: The process begins with a detailed oral examination. Using panoramic X-rays and 3D cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images available in our clinic, the volume, density, and anatomical structures of your jawbone are evaluated. Based on these findings, a personalized treatment plan is created by our specialist dentists to determine the ideal angle and position for each implant.
Surgical Procedure and Implant Placement: On the day of surgery, four or six dental implants—depending on the treatment plan—are placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia (sedation or general anesthesia can be provided upon request). These implants are compatible with specially designed Multi-Unit Screw Systems. The angled placement of the posterior implants ensures optimal use of the existing bone. The surgery typically takes a few hours and is performed meticulously by an experienced surgeon.
Placement of the Temporary Prosthesis: After the implants are positioned, Multi-Unit Abutments are attached. These components allow the prosthesis to sit evenly, even when implants are angled differently. At this stage, a temporary fixed prosthesis is placed, allowing our patients to leave the clinic with a functional and aesthetic smile—without experiencing the concern of being toothless during healing.
Healing (Osseointegration) Period and Comfortable Transition: During this phase, which lasts an average of 3 to 6 months, the implants fuse biologically with the jawbone (osseointegration). Throughout this period, your temporary prosthesis supports your daily activities, including speaking and chewing. Maintaining a soft-food diet is important for a successful healing process. Since the temporary prosthesis is screw-retained, it can be easily removed for adjustments when necessary.
Fabrication and Placement of the Final Prosthesis: Once osseointegration is successfully completed and the implant stability is confirmed, precise measurements are taken for your permanent prosthesis. A custom-designed, high-quality final prosthesis (porcelain or zirconia) is fabricated in our dental laboratory. This prosthesis is then securely attached to the Multi-Unit Abutments, giving you a natural-looking, long-lasting, and fully functional smile.
Why Choose the All-on-4 / All-on-6 System?
Fast Results: Offers a quicker path to a functional and aesthetic smile compared to traditional methods.
Reduced Need for Bone Grafts: Angled implant placement often eliminates the need for bone grafting procedures.
Shorter Treatment Time: Provides a faster route to a long-term solution when compared to conventional implant treatments.
Improved Quality of Life: Fixed prostheses significantly enhance chewing, speaking, and overall comfort.
High Success Rate: A clinically proven and highly reliable treatment method with many years of successful outcomes.
Natural and Aesthetic Appearance: Custom-designed prostheses offer a result that looks and feels like natural teeth.
