Accuracy in Diagnosis, Confidence in Treatment!

In our clinic, we actively use the latest imaging technologies offered by modern dentistry, including 2D (Panoramic and Periapical) and 3D (Dental CBCT – Cone Beam Computed Tomography) systems. Thanks to these advanced technologies, we are able to capture highly detailed images of your oral and jaw structures, make accurate diagnoses, plan treatments with maximum precision, and provide you with the safest and most successful treatment outcomes.

Understanding details that are not visible to the naked eye is the foundation of successful dental treatment. These imaging systems allow us to examine not only the visible surfaces of your teeth, but also the roots, jawbone, nerve pathways, and sinus cavities in three dimensions.

2D Imaging Technologies

These are the most commonly used and clinically valuable imaging methods in traditional dentistry:

Panoramic X-Ray (Panoramic Film):

What Is It? A wide-view radiograph that displays all teeth, jawbones, sinus cavities, and jaw joints on a single image.

Why Do We Use It? It is ideal for general evaluations, detecting impacted teeth (especially wisdom teeth), large cysts, tumors, jaw fractures, sinus infections, and missing teeth. It is also one of the first imaging methods used before orthodontic treatments and implant planning.

Advantages: Quick imaging, low radiation dose, and the ability to view the entire mouth in a single frame.

Periapical X-Ray (Small Dental Film / Periapical Film):

What Is It? A small film taken from inside the mouth that shows a single tooth in detail—from the root tip (apex) to the crown—along with the surrounding bone.

Why Do We Use It? It is invaluable for detecting small cavities, root infections, fractures, periodontal bone loss, and conditions that require root canal treatment. It is especially important during and after root canal procedures, as well as for evaluating localized areas prior to implant placement.

Advantages: High-detail resolution, precise localization, and minimal radiation exposure.

3D Imaging Technology: Dental CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography)

In more complex cases or when precise planning is needed, we use Dental CBCT technology in our clinic.

What Is It? A specialized imaging system that uses cone-shaped X-ray beams to create a three-dimensional model of the jaw and facial structures. It offers higher resolution than conventional medical CT scans, with significantly lower radiation exposure.

Why Do We Use It?

Implant Treatment Planning: To determine jawbone volume, density, and the exact position of nerves and sinus cavities with millimetric precision—ensuring implants are placed at the safest angle and depth. This increases success rates and minimizes risks.

Impacted Teeth: Especially for impacted wisdom teeth, CBCT allows us to evaluate root structure, nerve proximity, and the effect on neighboring teeth, helping us plan surgical procedures more safely.

Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment): To examine complex root canal anatomy, detect additional canals, fractures, or the causes of previous treatment failure in detail.

Cyst and Tumor Diagnosis: To precisely determine the size, location, and structural relationships of cysts or tumors within the jawbone and surrounding tissues.

Orthodontic Evaluations: To analyze jaw relationships, tooth positioning within the bone, airway dimensions, and other structural details necessary for orthodontic planning.

Trauma and Fractures: To accurately detect and assess fractures in teeth or jaw structures.

Advantages:

Precise Diagnosis and Planning: 3D imaging allows us to diagnose without missing any details.

High Safety: Since nerves, vessels, and sinus structures are clearly visible, treatment risks are greatly reduced.

Patient Comfort: Scan time is short and typically requires no special preparation.

Predictable Results: Because all details are planned in advance, treatment outcomes become more predictable and controlled.
